As I have got older my skin has got much dryer, especially my face. So I religiously apply moisturiser day and night. But sometimes it seems that no matter how much I use my skin soaks it up like a sponge and still feels dry.
We all have our favourite moisturisers, and in fact many would say that you don’t need to spend a fortune on Lancome and Estee Lauder – a beautician friend who knows her stuff recently told me that Boots Protect and Perfect is just as good as Crème de la Mer. But I have been on the look out for something that will really make my face feel rehydrated and softer, and I reckon I have found it: Neal’s Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm
I use it as a deep nourishing balm. It feels a bit greasy when you initially smooth it on, but then that all disappears, leaving your skin feeling enriched and smooth. I would say radiant too, but that is such an overused word in the beauty ads. I have to say it is the only product I have found that does the job, and though usually I use it at night I find that even in the morning any greasy feel disappears.
Being lazy, I rarely read the directions, but when I found a muslin cloth in the box too I thought I should break the habit. As a result I now know that my secret weapon is not only a nourishing balm but also an exfoliating cleanser and when used with the muslin cloth it is a balancing mask. So for me now it’s a three-in-one miracle cream.
And my latest Neals Yard beauty find?
Wild Rose Beauty Elixir – a lighter serum that is fantastic too, with an easy pump action dispenser. It smells delicious, and it really does make your skin feel fabulous – smooth, soothed and balanced, or in their words “a nourishing radiance boost for all skin types”
So if anyone asks you what you want for birthday, Christmas or mothers day, these would be at the top of my list.
If you want a foot softener then I have to say Neal’s Yard Comfrey and Mallow Foot Balm is perfect for the job. I could go on but you cannot go wrong with Neal’s Yard products as they are all so natural and effective. One of their latest ‘inner health’ products is the Beauty Boost super nutrient capsule for skin , hair and nail health. Perhaps not one for a present list though!
